Internet Desk : The Indian campaign comes to an end at the Japan Open Super series as India’s last hope Kidambi Srikanth losses to German third seed Marc Zwibler in the quarter- finals of the tournament in a hard fought match by 18-21 , 21-14 , 21-19.

Srikanth started well in the opening game against his German opponent, as he slamed the opener by 21-18. But his German opponent held his nerve and fought back in style by equaling the match 21-14 with an ease. The third set was just as competitive as anyone could think off. In the third set once Srikanth was leading the game by 14-10, but he could not take the advantage of this convincing lead as his German opponent fought back again like a true Champion to win the match in the final set by 21-19.

In his previous match Srikanth outran his countryman Ajay Jayram  by 21-16, as his opponent was forced to retire for an unknown reason .

Though the eighth-seed Srikanth has lost the match to his German opponent but he can surely take a lot of positives from his performance today. He was there in it right till the end and even saved a match point too, and the Rio Olympics quarter finalist is improving his game day by day.
