Internet Desk: “Bangladeshi Assassin” Mustafizur Rahman could be a hot pick for the franchises in the forthcoming Big Bash League. The 20 year old has generated a huge interest among the BBL franchises to pick him.

Mustafizur is rated as one of the best T20 bowlers in the world right now. He has already taken the Indian Premier League by storm with his bowling performance. Playing for the Sunrisers Hyderabad, he has caught the attention of everyone in the ensuing IPL with his lively pace, deceptive slower balls and cutters. The lanky left arm fast bowler has taken 13 wickets from 9 matches with a best bowling performance (16/3) against Mumbai Indians.

At least seven BBL clubs are in line to pick the Bangladeshi bowler. But Melbourne Renegades may have got an early jump on their rivals in the race for Mustafizur. Tom Moody, who coaches Mustafizur at Sunrisers Hyderabad is a director at the Renegades. The Renegades currently have two overseas spots available on their list, although one is expected to be taken by West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo.

Moody’s close connection with Mustafizur could be a deal-breaker for the Renegades should they want to sign the 20-year-old.

Reigning BBL champions Sydney Sixers is also targeting the Bangladeshi pace bowler. Musatfizur could be an option to replace legendary all-rounder Jacques Kallis. The Sixers are expected to re-sign West Indian all-rounder Andre Russell.

If Mustafizur does find a team in the BBL he would be the second Bangladeshi to play in Australia after Shakib Al Hasan, who turned out for the Strikers and Renegades.
