Xtra Time Web Desk: Rajasthan Royals spinner Yuzvendra Chahal commended the remarkable debut of Lucknow Super Gaints speedster Mayank Yadav in the 2024 Indian Premier League. Mayank has already impressed by delivering the fastest ball of the season and breaking into the top 5 fastest deliveries in IPL history. When asked about Mayank’s blistering pace, Chahal expressed his delight in witnessing an Indian bowler reaching such high speeds.

Following Umran Malik, Mayank is the second Indian pacer to breach the 155 kmph mark recently. Speaking at a press conference ahead of RR vs RCB match, Chahal expressed hope that Mayank would reach 160 kmph as well, a feat achieved by only a select few pacers in cricket history. Since the advent of the speed gun, bowlers like Brett Lee, Shaun Tait, Mitchell Starc, and Shoaib Akhtar have managed to bowl above 160 kmph.

Mayank played a pivotal role in LSG’s victory over Punjab, unleashing a blistering 155.8 kph delivery to set a new record for the season’s fastest ball. In his subsequent match, he struck fear into the hearts of RCB’s batters, claiming three wickets and guiding Lucknow to a memorable win.
