IPL 2024: Andre Russell achieves several milestones at Eden Gardens against Sunrisers Hyderabad

Xtra Time Web Desk: Andre Russell, on 23 March, became the fastest batter to reach the landmark of 200 sixes in the Indian Premier League. The muscled man achieved this feat in the IPL 2024 match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad at the historic Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The 35-year-old Russell took only 1322 balls to hit 200 sixes, breaking Chris Gayle’s record of 1811 balls.

In the penultimate ball of the 19th over of KKR’s innings, Russell hit Bhuvneshwar Kumar for a six to reach the landmark.

Russell muscle rescued delivered yet again when is team needed the most. He shone both with bat and ball. He made a quickfire 64 off just 25 deliveries and remained unbeaten. Took two wickets in two overs. He was declared the Player of the match for his stellar performance. KKR will next play an away match against Royal Challengers Bangaluru on 29 March.
