Xtra Time Web Desk : The Board for Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) is likely to take action against cricketers for pulling out of the Indian Premier League in the last minute after being bought in the mega auctions, according to a few reports.

Reportedly, the franchises in Kolkata Knight Riders and Gujarat Titans have been fuming with the last minute pull outs of cricketers in Alex Hales and Jason Roy respectively, citing personal reasons.

And recently in an interview with Cricbuzz, an IPL GC committee member opened up about the above matter and said, “The GC has a commitment towards the franchises who are the important stakeholders of the league. They bid for a player after a lot of planning. Their calculations go haywire if a player pulls out, that too for flimsy reasons,”

“There will not be a sweeping policy that everyone who has pulled out of the IPL will be prevented for a certain number of years. It will be on a case-by-case basis and some research will be done before action is initiated. What if the reason is genuine,” said another source, who is in the mix of things.

Earlier, both KKR and GT opted out for Alex Hales and Jason Roy respectively in this year’s mega auctions for their base prices, which went in vain as both the players pulled out of the tournament causing their franchises to search for a last minute replacement.
