Xtra Time Web Desk: Gujarat Titans defeated KL Rahul's led Lucknow Super Giants in Indian Premier League (IPL) on Monday by five wickets. However, a 22-year-old named Ayush Badoni saved the game from the final batting disaster in Lucknow.

Badoni who smashed 54 runs off 41 balls played a stellar performance in the Indian Premier League (IPL). His partnership with veteran Deepak Hooda led Lucknow to 156 runs. Despite losing the match, the team's captain KL Rahul heaped praise on Ayush and called him as "Baby AB."

But who is this Ayush Badoni? The Delhi cricketer has yet to play in a list. Even though he played only one T20 match in domestic cricket, he scored eight runs in it. But the way Rashid Khan was sweeping and hitting Lucky Ferguson with pool shots, he didn't seem so inexperienced!

It is learned that Team India U-19 coach Rahul Dravid requested Atun Wasan, chairman of the cricket advisory committee of the Delhi District Cricket Association, to keep a close eye on Ayush Badoni. But in the Delhi party election in 2020, Badoni was replaced by Open Moon.

Then Atun Wasan took Badoni to the trial of Mumbai Indians. There, Mumbai scout Kiran More was impressed with Ayush's performance, but he still did not play a single match for Delhi. Last year, Ayush played five matches in the Syed Mustaq Ali Trophy, but got the chance to bat only once.

The 22 year old, cricketer was picked by the Lucknow based franchise, infact it is known that Gautam Gambhir was the main man behind picking Badoni in the IPL mega Auction 2022.
