In the ongoing Indian Premier League,IPL 2021 Kolkata have just won 2 out of their 6 matches they have played so far. Their batting is a area of concern for their team management. Top order batsmen needs to put in their best effort. Specially the opening duo of Nitish Rana and Shubhman Gill is yet to fire. Both of them looking awfully out of touch with the bat. Rana after scoring two back to back fifties in the first two matches has all of a sudden lost his touch with the bat. Gill has failed to score a fifty yet. His highest score from this season is only 33 runs.
In this context many experts have asked Kolkata management to go for change of opening personnel. Many has suggested that Sunil Narine (who once used to open for KKR regularly.) Along with specialist opener Rahul Tripathi should open the innings.Incidetally Tripathi had done that before for the other franchises he has played for. We need to wait a few more hours from now on to find out the answer.
