IPL 2021: Virender Sehwag recalls Amit Mishra’s request after his brilliant bowling against Mumbai

Xtra Time Web Desk: Amit Mishra, the Delhi Capitals’ veteran leg-spinner, produced a brilliant performance in his outing against Mumbai Indians last night in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021). He ended the game with 4 wickets while having conceded just 24 runs in his bowling spell of 4 overs. His brilliant run with the ball earned him the Man of the Match award, in a game which the Delhi capitals won by 6 wickets, with 5 balls to spare in the last over.

Former Indian Cricketer Virender Sehwag recalled a conversation with Mishra where the spinner had asked for a salary hike after his first ever hat-trick in the competition. Sehwag said that Mishra was the type of person who was very calm and spoke gently to everybody, with an ability to mingle with people very easily. “I remember when he claimed his first hat-trick. I asked him what do you want and he said ‘Viru Bhai, please get my salary increased.’ Now, I feel, he would be getting that much amount of money that he won’t ask for a raise even after getting another hat-trick,” Sehwag said in an interview to Cricbuzz.

Sehwag also lauded Mishra for his brilliant bowling against Mumbai, where, despite getting hit for a few good shots by Suryakumar Yadav, he bounced back to scalp the wickets of Rohit Sharma, Kieron Pollard, Hardik Pandya and Ishan Kishan. Mishra seems to be in red-hot form as of now thanks to his performance last night, and could be a huge asset to the Delhi Capitals if used correctly.
