Subhabrata Mukherjee :- On Saturday night at Wankhede stadium,Mumbai Eoin Morgan's Kolkata knight Riders succumbed to a 6 wicket defeat vs Sanju Samson's Rajasthan Royals in the ongoing Indian Premier League ( IPL 2021). Kolkata top order batsmen looked clueless throughout their innings. Rajasthan Royals used slower balls, cutters to bamboozle Kolkata knight Riders batters.

Kolkata batted first. Started off very very poorly. Two openers Nitish Rana and Shubman Gill didn't get going at all. Only 25 runs were scored from the powerplay overs which definitely is a waste. Gill went back to pavillion being run out for just 11 runs scored off 18 deliveries. From there on KKR batsmen were playing catch up. Rahul Tripathi is the only one who scored 36 runs from just 26 balls. Dinesh Karthik scored 25 from just 24 balls. These two innings enabled Kolkata to post a modest total of 133 runs on the board from their 20 overs. Morris was superb with the ball as he grabbed 4 Wickets and conceded under 6 rums per over.

Chasing 134 runs to win Rajasthan Royals started off positively. They posted their 50 runs from just 6 o ers losing only 2 wickets. This set a perfect platform for their batters. Captain Sanju Samson led the way. He remained not out on 42 runs from 41 balls to steer his side to a comfortable 6 wicket win. He was well supported by Jaishwal (22),Shibam Dube (22) and David Miller (24*).
