Xtra Time Web Desk: In a gripping IPL 2024 showdown on Wednesday, May 8, Sunrisers Hyderabad showcased their prowess with the ball against Lucknow Super Giants, snagging a stellar start courtesy of two exceptional catches at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. Sanvir Singh's splendid effort in the fifth over sent Marcus Stoinis packing for just 3 runs, firmly placing SRH in control. Stoinis attempted a pull shot off Bhuvneshwar Kumar's delivery, but his mistimed shot found its way into Singh's safe hands as he lunged forward to complete a remarkable catch. 

LSG skipper KL Rahul won the toss and elected to bat first. However, LSG opening duo, comprising Quinton de Kock and Rahul himself, failed to provide a solid foundation. De Kock was dismissed early, contributing only 2 runs, adding to LSG's woes.

Both teams suffered substantial defeats in their previous encounters. Sunrisers Hyderabad succumbed to a seven-wicket loss against Mumbai Indians, who effortlessly chased down a target of 174 runs within 18 overs, losing only three wickets in the process. Conversely, Lucknow Super Giants faced a crushing 98-run defeat at the hands of Kolkata Knight Riders. In pursuit of 236 runs, LSG faltered, bowled out for a mere 137 runs.
