Subhabrata Mukherjee :- On Tuesday night it was indeed sweet revenge for Rishabh Pant’s men as they beat Mumbai Indians in the ongoing Indian Premier League ( IPL 2021) by six wickets in a low scoring thriller played at Cheapauk stadium,Chennai. Incidentally it was against this very opponent Delhi lost 4 matches out of 4 in the 13 th edition of Indian Premier League played in Emirates in the year 2020.

Rohit Sharma’s men batted first today on the slowish Chennai wicket. They started off in the worst possible fashion as they lost Quinton de Kock early for just 2 runs. Rohit and Suryakumar Yadav then steadied the ship with a 58 run partnership before Surya Kumar got out for the score of 24. Ishan Kishan played a handy knock of 26 runs and supported captain Rohit Sharma who top scored with 44 runs as Mumbai posted 137/9 from their 20 overs. Experienced campaigner Amit Mishra was brilliant with the ball today. He returned with a figure of 4-0-24-4 as he restricted Mumbai to go past 150 run mark.

Chasing 138 runs to win Shikhar Dhawan scored 45 and australian great Steven Smith scored 33 runs to ensure that there were no hiccups in the chase as they lost Shaw early for just 7 runs. Lalit yadav remained not out on 22 and Hetmyer on 9 to see their side safely through to another comfortable 6 wicket win.
