Johnson faced adversity battling a recurring stress fracture, leading to three years out of the game and a shift to landscaping. However, the 28-year-old left-arm pacer’s determination and resilience paid off post-surgery, earning him a South Australia contract in 2022 and a Big Bash League debut for Brisbane Heat in January 2023.
