Indian Football Team receives approval to play in this international tournament

Xtra Time Web Desk: The Indian senior football team has received official approval to participate in the upcoming King’s Cup in Thailand. Prior to this, the All India Football Federation had also expressed verbal consent.

In the 49th edition of the King’s Cup, India will compete against hosts Thailand, Iraq, and Lebanon. The tournament will be held in a knockout format. The matches are scheduled for September 7-10.

India last participated in the King’s Cup in 2019, where they finished in third place. Under the guidance of head coach Igor Stimac, India suffered a 1-3 defeat against Curacao in the semifinals. In the final match, India lost 0-1 to Thailand, securing the third-place finish.
