Internet Desk: After leaving the post of Indian cricket team coach Anil Kumble posted a statement regarding his decision of leaving the chair. Following the incident all eyes were on skipper Virat Kohli as everyone was thinking what will be his reply after Kumble’s statement. Virat finally broke his silence on Kumble at the pre-match press conference ahead of the first ODI against the Windies which will start from tomorrow.

“Anil bhai has expressed his views and decided to step out. We all respect the views,” he said today.”It is something that has happened right after the tournament and one thing for sure is that I’ve had 11 press conferences that have happened during the Champions Trophy. Whatever we have created a culture over the last three-four years is that whatever happens inside the dressing room, we try to maintain the sanctity of the dressing room. That is what we have believed and for us that is paramount.

“I have always respected that and maintained that. It is his opinion, his point of view which I respect. And I have total respect for him as a cricketer and what he has achieved for the nation all the years he has played. There is no taking away that aspect away from him at all. We totally respect that.”

On the other hand Kohli also said he will never reveal any secret of the Indian dressing room, in an apparent reference to the former coach Anil Kumble’s statement that his partnership with the skipper had become “untenable”.

“What’s more important for me is to maintain the sanctity of the dressing room. What happens inside the dressing room is private and sacred to all of us. I would not express the details in public scenario. Having said that, his point of view is out there and we respect that.”

Earlier Kumble had agreed to go with the team for the Windies tour but decided to step down from his chair after a meeting with the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) on Sunday.

“Post this intimation, I was informed for the first time yesterday by the BCCI that the Captain had reservations with my ‘style’ and about my continuing as the Head Coach,” Kumble wrote, presenting his side of the story. “I was surprised since I have always respected the role boundaries between Captain and Coach. Though the BCCI attempted to resolve the misunderstandings between the Captain and me, it was apparent that the partnership was untenable, and I therefore believe it is best for me to move on,” he added.
