Internet Desk: Former Pakistan captain, Shahid Afridi took on social media to wish neighbour India on the auspicious occasion of Independence Day leaving an overwhelming message, seeking for peace across both the rival nations.

Afridi took to social media to convey his message and wrote that there is no way that one can choose its geographical neighbor but we can learn to live with peace and prosperity. Afridi’s Twitter post read: “Happy Independence Day India! No way to change neighbours, let’s work towards peace, tolerance and love. Let humanity prevail. #HopeNotOut”

The Indian cricket team who are currently in Kandy celebrated India’s 70th independence by hoisting the national flag.

A sense of mutual respect has been observed by the former Pakistani skipper with the Indian cricketers when skipper Virat Kohli gifted Afridi an autographed bat for the latters foundation.

The Indian team also presented an autographed jersey of all the players when Afridir retired from international cricket last April.
