Internet Desk:
On behalf of FIFA and the Local Organising Committee, Spanish World Cup Winner Carles Puyol launched the tickets for FIFA U-17 World Cup India 2017. The launch was done at exactly 19:11 hours in IPL’s pre-match studio show on Sony Entertainment Network, the Official Broadcasters for the tournament.

The particular time was chosen to pay tribute to the year in which Indian football made history. In 1911, it was the first time that an Indian football team, Mohun Bagan AC, defeated an English team (East Yorkshire Regiment) and won the IFA Shield. In keeping up with that spirit, the campaign “Book your place in history” will be used to attract Indians who now have a chance to watch the first ever FIFA tournament in the sub-continent.

Speaking at the event, FIFA Legend Carles Puyol said, “I’m very excited and happy to be a part of the first ever FIFA tournament in India. It’s a great milestone for football in this country. We’ll be seeing the future stars of world football kick start their future right here, in India”.

Speaking about the sale of tickets, President of the All India Football Federation and Chairman of the Local Organising Committee Praful Patel said, “All football fans will now have the opportunity of accessing the tickets for the first FIFA World Cup to be played in India. This is a historic occasion, and we hope that everyone that loves the game can attend matches. The prices have been kept accessible for as many people as possible and are less than what it would cost to go and watch a movie, so we expect a good response from the football lovers in India. We truly believe that they can create an atmosphere to remember for players and all viewers in our country and around the world”.

The start of the ticket sales will be an opportunity for football fans to enjoy substantial discounts on the purchase of tickets on a first come, first serve basis. The price cut allows a football lover buying the Kolkata Venue Package to watch a FIFA World Cup final for less than one hundred rupees.
