kolkata: Just after 48 hours of the derby defeat against arch rivals Mohun Bagan, the Red and Gold official Debabrata Sarkar accused the referee for the upset. He claimed that the referees have been troubling the East Bengal officials for the last 7-8 years and the last derby was no exception as well. Debabrata said, “The referees’ decisions have been troubling us for the last 7-8 years. Even in the derby, the free kick which led Sony Norde to score the opening goal, was no way a foul. He slipped on the ball and went to the ground, none of our players touched him. But the referee awarded them the free kick.”

The East Bengal official has also told the media that they will be having a meeting with Trevor Morgan tomorrow in the evening to know the misunderstandings the coach had with the officials. He also mentioned they don’t have any plan to change the coach right now. He told, “Trevor is and will be our coach. We will discuss about the remaining possibilities we have in this season with the coach.”

Meanwhile, the East Bengal coach has given a report against his forward Willis Plaza about the way he “ridiculously” saw the yellow card during the Kolkata derby to let his team down. The officials will have a discussion about that as well. The East Bengal gaffer trained with his team at the club ground today but didn’t speak to the media.
