Xtra Time Web Desk : East Bengal is set to kick off their campaign in the Calcutta League Premier Division 2023 on July 10. However, they may face a setback before that. It is speculated that their first opponent, West Bengal Police, has applied to the IFA (Indian Football Association) to postpone the match scheduled for July 10. But what could be the reason behind this application?

The reason behind the application is the outcome of the Panchayat Elections, which will be announced on July 11. As a result, a few days before the announcement, the players of the West Bengal Police team will be engaged in security duties in various parts of the state. Consequently, it will be difficult for the team to participate in the match on July 10 due to their responsibilities towards the police.

As of now, no decision has been made by the IFA regarding this matter. However, according to inside sources, the Football Regulatory Authority of Bengal will consider the possibility of postponing the match due to the justifiable concerns raised by the police.
