David Beckham likely to be present at the Wankhede stadium to witness semi-final between India and NZ

Xtra Time Web Desk: The highly anticipated first semi-final of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 between India and New Zealand at the Wankhede Stadium is set to be attended by global football sensation David Beckham. As UNICEF’s ‘Goodwill Ambassador,’ Beckham is currently in India for a three-day sojourn, coinciding with the cricketing extravaganza. He will be travelling to Mumbai from Ahmedabad before the semi-final on November 15.

International Cricket Council and Mumbai Cricket Association officials are making last minute arrangements for the former England and Manchester United footballer’s visit at the iconic venue. Talks are in progress to arrange for Beckham to share the stands with cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar, promising a memorable moment.

Beckham, OBE, became a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador in 2005, having previously supported UNICEF’s work for children while playing in the Manchester United Football Club.

In 2015, David launched the 7 Fund for UNICEF to mark his tenth year as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador. The 7 Fund is a unique partnership aimed at helping children around the world – especially girls – break down barriers like bullying, violence, child marriage and missed education that too often steal dreams away.
