Hjorring, Denmark: Durbar Sports Academy beat Klebe SK 4-0 in the Horne stadium to qualify for the knockout stages of Dana Cup. Shoaib Anwar Munsi scored a brace (8′,32′) while Abhijit Manna (19′) and Ujjal Bag (40′) scored one each. The scoreline could have been different if Durbar players would not have missed three sitters and one hitting the post.
Durbar Sports Academy was leading the match 2-0 at the end of first half courtesy two goals from Shoaib and Abhijit and it got increased in the second half with two more from Shoaib again and goal machine Ujjal Bag.
Durbar players looked very confident today after their impressive performance last evening against Stord FB which they won 3-0 and that gave them a huge momentum in today’s final encounter. After the end of Tuesday’s fixture, a win was must for Durbar today to qualify but it changed today to a draw as Elverum FB lost their match.
Coach Biswajit Majumdar said, “It was a good performance from the boys but the margin could have been different if the goals were not missed. This is a little concern for me. I have asked my boys not to be complacent as this is just the first step which we have over taken. Our aim is towards the trophy.”
Durbar Sports Academy open their knockout campaign against Ready FC of Norway tomorrow at 8:35 a.m. local time (12 p.m. IST). Although Durbar’s coach and players does not have much knowledge about this side, they still want to win the match and continue the good momentum.
