Kolkata: There is a huge question mark over Salt lake stadium hosting ISL matches this season. The innovation work which is under way for hosting the U-17 World Cup matches next year is still incomplete. Due to this, there is a big uncertainty about  Atletico De Kolkata’s home matches in ISL 3 which is to be held from October to December in Salt lake stadium.

Lots of work is still to be done in and around the stadium like the renovation of the roof-top, new press box and hospitality box, gallery rennovation, laying down of bucket seats, building and parking slots etc.

Stadium officials are working day and night to get all the work completed before the deadline i.e., September 30, 2016, the day before FIFA officials come for a final inspection. According to Sports Minister Aroop Biswas, ” We are working on it so that every thing falls under place before the deadline. That is why I have come for an ins[inspection to see the proceedings. I will be increasing the number of workers and the working hours too. There is nothing to worry. We will host a successful World Cup.”

Salt Lake stadium CEO, Jyotishman Chatterjee said, “To host a successful World Cup event, we have to give up on hosting ISL matches as we have to hand over the stadium to FIFA officials .”

Meanwhile, Sports Mnister Aroop Biswas and MoS Laxmi Ratan Shukla was felicitated today by different state level sports associations at Netaji Indoor stadium press room. Aroop Biswas said, “If East Bengal and Mohammedan can bring the NOC from Army, they will also be able to install flood lights in their club ground.”
