Internet Desk: India’s veteran batsman Yuvraj Singh will miss India’s first warm-up match of ICC Champions Trophy against New Zealand tomorrow due to viral fever.

“The BCCI medical team confirms that Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh who is presently down with viral fever is making steady progress. There are no major health concerns and he is recuperating well, to the satisfaction of the medical team,” a BCCI media release stated.

“He is advised rest and will miss India’s first warm-up match against New Zealand at The Oval on May 28, 2017. The medical team will continue to monitor Yuvraj Singh’s progress and hope for a speedy recovery,” it added.

The defending champions had a two and half hour practice session on their first , where 14 of the 15 squad members participated.

Virat Kohli led Indian cricket team will face neighbor Bangladesh in their second warm-up match at the Oval on Tuesday. The defending champions will face their archrivals Pakistan in their first match of the Champions Trophy match on fourth June.
