Internet Desk: The Bengal U-19 middle order batsman Saurabh Singh and tail-ender Kanishk Seth put up a resilient fight after losing the sixth wicket for 180 runs, as they shared a 92 runs unbeaten stand for the seventh wicket against host Delhi in the final of Cooch Behar Trophy 2017. At the end of day 3 Bengal is at 272/6 and they just need another 43 runs to take the lead against Delhi. They are on the verge of clinching the prestigious Cooch Behar Trophy title after 19 long years.

Earlier in the morning Delhi bowlers bowled beautifully in the home condition to reduce Bengal to 180/6 at one stage. Saurabh didn’t get any assistance from his fellow partners as they got out very quickly. Left arm pacer Kanishk joined Saurabh after falling of sixth wicket. Kanishk(46*) batted brilliantly along with Saurabh(139*) to save Bengal from the blushes. They both hammered the Delhi bowlers through all parts of the ground and remained unbeaten at the end of day.

Bengal head coach Pranab Nandi was very happy about Saurbah and Kanishk’s performance.” They showed their character on the field. They looked very much matured during their batting in such pressure and I think they will help Bengal to take the lead against Delhi tomorrow.”

He further added,” These two are batting well for us but the other three tail-enders can hit the ball quite well too and that is an advantage for us too. We hope that we can do well tomorrow to beat Delhi in their home ground to win the trophy after 19 years.”
