Kolkata: With the series already in the bag, India would look to inflict more damage when they take on England in the third ODI at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Sunday. The hosts would look to complete a whitewash over England and address any chinks in their Armour in their final ODI before the Champions Trophy to be held in England in June. Although the series have been won by India but CAB sources claimed it’s going to be a packed house on Sunday. The Eden pitch is going to be another high scoring match predicted the curator. Hundreds of people roaming around Eden Gardens in search of tickets. People are ready to pay high price to buy tickets. In all the hype and the atmosphere is all set to have a wonderful match between India and England. Here are some glimpse of Eden Gardens today.
NO VIRAT SHOW- The fans assembled at the Eden Gardens were unhappy with the absence of the most wanted and popular cricketer of the present Indian Team Virat Kohli. There was no Virat show at the practice but his ever rising popularity was felt at the Eden Gardens through his die-hard fan Nikash Kanhar who comes from the Kandamal district. Everyone knows about Sudhir the fanatic fan of Sachin Tendulkar and Ram Babu who his a Dhoni fan. Nikash is one such fan of Virat Kohli. He is following Kohli wherever he goes to play. He is a ticket advance booking agent and has limited sources to follow Virat in all venues. But he sold his Mother’s ornaments to watch and support Kohli at Cuttack, Ranchi, Mohali, Vizag. He too wants to be a super fan of Kohli. Nikash has his Mother, Father two elder sisters. He himself played cricket but could not keep upto his dreams.
DHONI STILL ENJOYS POPULARITY- With the absence of Virat, Yuvraj Singh the Eden practice session attraction was stole by India’s Ex-Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. He still enjoys huge popularity and it showed when a group of girls started cheering for Dhoni and as soon as he waved his hands signalling them the girls started crying. Priya agarwal and Uma Agarwal who stay in Kolkata’s Syambazar burst into tears seeing dhoni wave hands towards them. Another girl Sukanti Choudhury of Dum Dum had the same fate as Dhoni waved hands towards her cheer.
DHONI CLEAN BOWLED- It’s a rare scene on a cricket field where Dhoni has been clean bowled. But Kolkata Sealdah’s twenty three year old Agnibesh Paul achieved the rare feat who clean bowled Dhoni during the nets today. Dhoni himself was perplexed with the delivery and congratulated Agnibesh saying “great bowling, your line and length is perfect, keep it up”. Agnibesh plays with Gurudas Institute in the 2nd division club at the CAB league. An exstatic Agnibesh said,” I am delighted to have bowled out Dhoni, earlier I have bowled out Gautam Gambhir at KKR practice and Ajinkya Rahane during Pune Supergiants practice at the Eden Gardens. His Father also played with the railways and now is a coach with local club.
22 YARDS- Its not even 24hours that India and England will battle it out on the 22 yards at the Eden Gardens and coincidentally the film crew of 22 yards, an upcoming film, were on the ground with it’s full crew. The film is based upon the relationship between a cricketer and his agent. The lead star cast of the film is Bollywood’s new heart-throb Varun Shakti. Varun who himself played cricket when he was young and wanted to be a cricketer. But with time his professional field turned to real to reel and he wanted to do something for cricket and got this lead role on a film based on Cricket. Varun Said,”I am overjoyed after getting this role as a cricketer in the film, although I could not become a cricketer but it feels good to be part of a film where I am a Cricketer.”
