In the upcoming T20 tournament, The Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, the Apex Committee of the BCCI has made decisions to implement several new rules. In a meeting held on Friday, it was decided that from now on, bowlers will be allowed to deliver two bouncers per over. Previously, only one bouncer per over was allowed, but now the bouncer count has been increased to two to intensify the battle between bat and ball.

Furthermore, a change has been made to the rules regarding the impact player in this domestic tournament. From now on, teams will have the option to field an impact player at any time during the match, in addition to selecting their first eleven before the toss. Alongside the regular playing eleven, four substitute cricketers can be nominated as impact players.

These changes have been implemented in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy starting from the previous season, where the impact player was fielded after the 14th over.
