Internet Desk: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) today has announced that every member of the Indian women’s cricket team will receive Rs. 50 Lakh each for their remarkable performance at the ICC Women’s World Cup 2017. The support staffs will also get 25 Lakh rupees each.

Mithali Raj led Indian cricket team have reached the final by beating the defending champions Australia comprehensively by 36 runs in the semifinal in Derby couple of days back. The Women in Blue will face hosts England at Lord’s tomorrow.

BCCI acting on Friday announced that the BCCI would reward the Women’s team for their all-round display in the ICC Women’s World Cup.

“BCCI will give reward to Women’s Cricket Team on their tremendous performance in World Cup. Match by match Indian team is performing so well now, we are proud of them particularly the knock played by Harmanpreet Kaur,” CK Khanna had said.

India’s vice-captai Harmanpreet Kaur played the knock of her life for the side as India stormed into the ICC World Cup final, demolishing Australia in semi-final on Thursday. She remained not out on 171.

India’s best performance in Women’s World Cup came back in 2005, where they lost to the hosts Australia in the final under Mithali’s leadership.

A win tomorrow has the potential to do the same for women’s cricket in India, where at they have had to arrange funds for overseas tours in the past.

It is only the second time that India will have a shot at the world title. Jhulan Goswami and Mithali Raj were part of the runners-up team in 2005 and tomorrow will be their last chance to be a World Cup winner.
