Xtra Time Web Desk: Ahead of the big game against India, Bangladesh is yet to decide on Shakib al Hasan’s availability. The Bangladesh captain sustained an injury to his left quadriceps during the game against New Zealand. The Bangladesh team management is yet to confirm Shakib’s participation in the match.
“He had a good batting session yesterday,” Bangladesh Head coach Chandika Hathurusingha told a pre-match press conference in Pune on Wednesday.
He added, “He did a bit of running between the wickets as well. We are waiting for the result of the scan we did today.”
“We haven’t tried his bowling yet. We will assess him tomorrow morning, and decide. If he is not ready to play, we won’t risk it. If he is ready, there’s a chance of him playing.”
Shakib’s absence if he does not play will be a big blow to Bangladesh.
