Kolkata: Kolkata giants East Bengal and ISL franchise ATK can get into a confrontation over the issue of placing billboards/LED boards on the sidelines at the Salt Lake Stadium. Such a strange situation has arisen due to both I League and Indian Super League being staged concurrently at the same venue.

Normally the hoardings/LED boards of the home team along with the sponsors of the league are placed on the sidelines. As per the rules LED boards are to be placed within 1-3 metres from the main turf. Here lies the problem as ATK, who will play their first match of the ISL this season against FC Pune City at Salt Lake Stadium had placed the LED boards 1 metre away from the main pitch.

The Kolkata franchise is not willing to open its LED boards after their match tomorrow. According to well placed sources, ATK wants East Bengal to place their billboards in front of their LED boards. But the problem East Bengal are facing is they cannot place the billboards within the stipulated 1 meter restriction from the main pitch. If they place their billboards in front of the LED boards, they will be violating the rules laid down by organisers.

It will be interesting whether both parties come together and find a way out.
