Asia Cup 2018: Tons from Rohit & Shikhar, India thumped arch-rivals Pakistan in the super four

XtraTime Web Desk: Rohit Sharma led Indian cricket team hands another humiliating defeat to their arch-rivals Pakistan as they beat them by 9 wickets in the super four game of the Asia Cup at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday. Both the openers; skipper Rohit Sharma (111*) and Shikhar Dhawan (114) hit their individual centuries to hand the Men in Blue an easy win with 10.4 overs to spare. At the end skipper Rohit Sharma remained not out on 111 along with Ambati Rayudu who scored 12 runs. Surprisingly the winning run came with the bat of Rauydu who is celebrating his birthday today.




Earlier winning the toss Pakistan skipper Sarfraz Khan elected to bat first. On a flat track the green brigade could only managed to post 237 runs due some brilliant bowling by the Indian bowlers. Jasprit Bumrah, Yuzvendra Chahal & Kuldeep Yadav shared two wickets each. For Pakistan veteran all-rounder Shoaib Malik top scored with 78 runs and skipper Sarfraz Khan scored 44 runs before getting out.




In reply, ton up Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma shared a partnership of 210 runs for the first wicket. While doing so Shikhar Dhawan hit sixteen boundaries and two gigantic sixes. On the other hand skipper Rohit Sharma hammered the Pakistani bowlers through all parts of the ground as he hit seven fours and four huge sixes. With this win India now have almost reached the final of the Asia Cup. They will next face Afghanistan in their last super four game on September 25.
