AFC Champions League Draw: Neymar’s Al Hilal placed in the same group with Mumbai City FC

Xtra Time Web Desk: Great news for Indian football fans as Brazilian superstar Neymar Jr can be seen in action during the upcoming AFC Champions League match against Mumbai City FC. Both Al Hilal and Mumbai City have been drawn into Group D of the AFC Champions League’s West Zone, setting the stage for a challenging competition. The group also includes Iran’s F.C. Nassaji Mazandaran and Uzbekistan’s PFC Navbahor Namangan.

Mumbai City FC made history last season by becoming the first Indian team to secure a victory in the AFC Champions League. With this accomplishment in mind, they are determined to enhance their performance and potentially progress further in the tournament under the leadership of coach Des Buckingham.

Due to infrastructure limitations at the Mumbai Football Arena, Mumbai City FC will be relocating its ‘home’ games to the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex in Balewadi, Pune. This move ensures they meet the AFC’s requirements for hosting Champions League matches. The team’s base in Pune will host three group stage games during the 2023-24 Champions League season.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr has been placed in Group E, where they will compete against formidable opponents, including Persepolis, AL Duhail, and FC Istiklol, making Group E another highly competitive group in this prestigious tournament.
