Internet Desk: The drama surrounding the appointment of new coach of Indian cricket team took another twist. It was widely reported across all the media that former Team India Director Ravi Shastri was appointed as the coach. But the news was contradicted by the acting Board secretary Amitabh Choudhury on Tuesday evening. According to the BCCI acting secretary the decision on Indian coach has not been finalised and the Cricket Advisory Committee was still deliberating on it.

Earlier during the day it was circulated that Ravi Shastri had been named coach till the 2019 World Cup. It was also conveyed that Shastri’s name was approved by the BCCI-appointed Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC), consisting of Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman.

The Committee of Administrators earlier insisted that the name of the new coach is announced today.

The former Team India Director was the front runner to replace Kumble. The advantage Shastri had over some of the other candidates is his good relationship with captain Kohli.

Both Shastri and Kohli stitched a successful partnership as India reached the semi-finals of 2015 ICC World Cup held in Australia and New Zealand.

But the new development on the coach drama only suggests how unprofessionally the issue is being handled.

After reaching the Kolkata Airport, the former India skipper and CAC member Sourav Ganguly said,” It was just a confusion. Nothing has been finalized as off now.”
