2018 FIFA WC: Lionel Messi reveals Argentina’s chances against France

XtraTime WebDesk: Lionel Messi spoke about Argentina’s chances in their last 16 clash with France after Jorge Sampaoli’s side just qualified for the knockout stages with a decisive win over Nigeria on Tuesday.

The Barcelona talisman scored his first goal of 2018 World Cup to open the scoring and will now face Les Bleus for a place in the pre-quarter-finals.

“We have watched every single France game. We follow every game. France is a very good team with skilled individual players,” he said.

“They have very fast players who can really make a difference. I know what we will have to do. It will be a very tough game, no doubt.”

Argentina take on France on Saturday in what should be an intriguing clash. France eased through qualification by beating Australia and Peru and drawing with Denmark.

Didier Deschamps has a star-studded squad to choose from, but the team hasn’t completely convinced in their three matches so far.
