The club has formed a four-member election committee today to execute the election procedure properly. No doubt, the election will be a massive test for the likes of Debabrata Sarkar and Kalyan Majumder, as the team has been in dearth of a national level trophy for the last five years.

The four-member election committee will be comprising of Dr Pranab Dasgupta, Debabrata Mukherjee, Deepak Dey and Debapriyo Majumder, with Dr Dasgupta to be the Chairman of the committee.
On the other hand, East Bengal official Debabrata Sarkar has confirmed once again that the meeting on the 22nd with the AIFF officials might decide their chances to participate in the Indian Super League.
The East Bengal official said, "We have collected the (Invitation to Bid) documents in Mumbai. But this doesn’t guarantee our participation. We cannot take a plunge in the sea without assessing what’s on offer. We will study it and then details will follow. We will meet Mr Kushal Das of AIFF on Monday to know if they can come up with any solutions”.
