Though, the chance of playing in the ISL is yet to be decided. But it is learnt that the present sponsors of East Bengal insisted the Red & Gold club officials to at least pick up the form of “invitation to bid”.

At the East Bengal tent, official Debabrata Sarkar said, “Yes, East Bengal to pick up ISL ‘Invitation to Bid’ documents tomorrow. Every step which we would be taking, will be a collective step by both East Bengal and Mohun Bagan.” He added, “We will have a discussion with Kushal Das on the 22nd May. We have contracts with a lot of players and we will decide their future later on”
Mohun Bagan Secretary Anjan Mitra who came to the club today said that their arch rivals will send them a copy of the “invitation to bid” document. He told, “Yes, whatever the East Bengal officials are saying, is true and they will send us the copy of document to go through the matter. We will have an executive committee meeting soon. We are in no hurry. There is still enough time for us”. He also said, “It's a serious matter and we want to take the decisions cautiously.”
