Xtra Time Web Desk: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is likely to approach former India captain Rahul Dravid to be the interim coach for India’s home series against New Zealand. It is learnt that the BCCI is not in a hurry to appoint someone as Head Coach of Indian cricket team. The Indian cricket board is thinking of appointing someone as a stop gap measure for the series against New Zealand at home which follows immediately after the T20 World Cup.

As per reports, there are quite a few overseas names doing rounds to have expressed their interest to take the role of Head Coach of Indian team. Former Australian cricketer Tom Moody is willing to take the job, but the BCCI isn’t keen as they are focussing on an Indian for the role, before they look elsewhere.

It is to be noted that Dravid has already made it clear that he does not want to be the full-time coach of the Indian team. The reason he specified was he don’t want to travel too much.

He has already taken charge of the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.
