Xtra Time Web Desk: Why is Kuldeep Yadav on fire against Kolkata Knight Riders in the on-going edition of IPL? The left arm wrist spinner has saved his best performance against KKR. Kuldeep is out to prove a point to his former franchise. He picked up his second four-wicket haul of this season, taking his tally to 17 wickets. Kuldeep’s figures read 4-0-14-4. His previous four wicket haul was also against Kolkata Knight Riders when he took 4/25.

Kuldeep Yadav is a perfect example of a player who has been badly treated by a franchise.

Until IPL 2019, he was Knight Riders' go-to wicket-taker, averaging 19.43 with an economy rate of 7.32. But since IPL 2020 (picked one wicket in five games) Kuldeep failed to find favors from the KKR team management. He was eventually dropped. Kuldeep didn't make the Knight Riders' starting XI in the first half of the 2021 season either, and was then sidelined with a knee injury for the second half.

The resurgence of Kuldeep has undoubtedly been one of the biggest takeways of the IPL 2022 so far. The Uttar Pradesh bowler, who took just 5 wickets in last two IPL seasons is a transformed bowler as he is given the confidence and support by Delhi Capitals Head Coach Ricky Ponting and Captain Rishabh Pant. And results are for everyone to see.
