Xtra Time Web Desk: Team India star batter Virat Kohli registered a significant milestone by scoring his 49th ODI ton during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 game at the Eden Gardens on November 5. Kohli by scoring 101* off 120 balls levelled with legendary Sachin Tendulkar. It was more special for Kohli as he achieved the milestone on his 35th birthday in front of a packed 70000 odd spectators.

As a fitting gesture to celebrate the milestone, Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) has decided to put a huge photograph of Virat Kohli reaching the milestone, outside the Club House of the Eden Gardens next to pictures of legendary Sachin Tendulkar. It was a collective decision by the CAB top brass to honour Virat in a befitting manner. Every time anyone visits Eden Gardens, their eyes will shift to the picture of Virat Kohli along with other legends of Indian cricket.

Kohli has been in terrific form in this World Cup. He has already scored two centuries in this edition and missed a couple more. The star Indian batter has smashed two hundreds and four fifties in eight league games so far. After South Africa's Quinton De Kock, he is the second-highest run-scorer in the tournament so far.
