Xtra Time Web Desk: India captain Virat Kohli on Tuesday made a big statement on the poor run of form of KL Rahul. Kohli has come forward in support of Rahul, stating the Karnataka batsman will continue to be one of the main players along with Rohit Sharma at the top of the order.

"I was going through a lean patch as well two days back. He (KL Rahul) has been a champion player. He'll continue to be one of our main players along with Rohit at the top of the order. It's a matter of five-six balls in this format." Kohli said in the post-match presentation.

Rahul, who is currently the No.2 batsman in the ICC T20I Men's rankings has registered paltry individuals scores of 1,0, and 0 against England in the ongoing T20I series. There seems to be some rustiness that might have crept in Rahul’s batting considering he has not had any match practice in recent times.

Speaking about loss in the third T20I against England, the Indian skipper admitted that it was a bit difficult to bat against the new ball at Motera. "You don't want to play knocks which don't help the team in any way. It was a bit difficult to bat against the new ball. Their bowlers were hitting good areas. The England bowlers attacked right lines and lengths and with their pace they became more potent," Kohli said.
