Xtra Time Web Desk: The Indian athletes participating in the Tokyo Olympics across various disciplines have started training in the Games Village from Monday. The badminton contingent was among the first to start training at the Tokyo Games village. PV Sindhu was seen having her first training session with Sai Praneet along with coach Park Tae Sang. Sai Praneet will play against M Zilberman of Greece in first round of Group D on Saturday, July 24. PV Sindhu will face K Polikarpova in the opening round in Group J on Sunday, July 25.

The badminton doubles pair of Satwik Sairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty have started training with coach Mathias Boe. The table tennis players have also started their training at the Games village. Achanta Sharath Kamal was seen training with Sathiyan Gnanasekaran.

The archery team also got down to their first training session. Archers Deepika Kumari, Atanu Das, Tarundeep Rai and Pravin Jadhav were see having a practice session at the Kurobe City. The Indian Mixed Team of Recurve Archers Deepika Kumari and Atanu Das trained together for the first time in  Tokyo, getting used to the conditions.

The sailing team comprising of Varun Thakkar, Ganapathy Chengappa, Vishnu Saravanan and Nethra Kumanan also began training. The swimming team of Mona Patel and Srihari Nataraj also got down to the pool for their first training session.
