Red & Gold Brigade’s current head coach Khalid Jamil was the manager of Aizawl FC when they won their maiden I-League title last season. After facing Aizawl, Khalid Jamil’s boys will face arch-rivals Mohun Bagan in their second match in the first I-League derby of the season.Though Khalid has no complaints regarding his team’s fixture. “We don’t have any problem to face Mohun Bagan in the second match of the I-League. One should understand that you have to play the derby sooner or later in the league,” said Khalid Jamil. The Red & Gold Brigade will have to play away games on the trot during the month of February. The East Bengal officials will file a complaint regarding this matter to the ALL India Football Federation (AIFF). On being asked about the matter, Khalid said,” This is the internal matter of the club and I have nothing to say regarding this matter. I am only concentrating on my team’s performance.” “I have no idea about any other teams except Mohun Bagan and Aizawl FC, but all the teams are good in this year’s I-League. We have to take one match at a time and all the away games will be tough this season,” concluded Khalid.
