This footballer from Punjab in salary disputes with Mohun Bagan
XtraTime Web Desk: The All India Football Fedaration’s (AIFF) Player Status Committee had a long chat on the issue going on between Sukhdev Singh & Kolkata giants Mohun Bagan on Friday. As per sources Sukhdev went to the AIFF to claim his pending payment which he is yet to receive from the Green & Maroon Brigade. Earlier Sukhdev & Mohun Bagan had a negotiation on this matter but they couldn’t find a suitable result despite of that. It is learnt that Sukhdev wants 85 percent of his salary from Bagan (which is around 25 lakh rupees), on the other hand Mohun Bagan are willing to pay only 70 percent money (which is around 20 lakh rupees). Now the Player Status Committee will review the matter again and they are likely to give a verdict next week.
Back in 2018, Mohun Bagan battled hard against their arch-rivals East Bengal to sign Singh from Minerva Punjab FC by giving almost 16 lakh rupees transfer fee. But later the tall defender was banned for six months for contract dispute by the AIFF, after East Bengal tried to sign him as well. The Red & Gold Brigade also faced transfer ban for that incident. Though after six months ban Singh failed to make a quick debut for Bagan due to his series of injuries. For that reason he didn’t feature in any single I-League match for Bagan as well. Though he was in the side for a few matches in the Durand Cup and Calcutta Football League.
