Xtra Time Web Desk : Team India batter Cheteshwar Pujara has undoubtedly regained his old self in the ongoing County Championship for his side Sussex as the 34 year old has been in superb form, scoring 3 centuries already.

The Saurashtra batter, who was amidst a poor run of form for the last few months found it difficult to score big for Team India and was eventually dropped from the side after the South Africa series due to the above reason.

But the ongoing County season for Sussex has proved to be a turning point for the 'Rock', and his father Arvind Pujara on Monday opened up about the reason behind Cheteshwar's fantabulous come back.

In an interview with NDTV, the senior Pujara said, "I feel the lack of game time was a big reason why he could not be consistent over the past three seasons. When you play the likes of Australia and England, you have to be on the top of your game as you don’t get loose balls that you may get at the domestic level. There were not enough games for him to play at the domestic level to be ready for bigger battles. That I feel impacted his consistency at the highest level,”

“It is every cricketer’s dream to play for India and no different for Cheteshwar but you also play for the love of the game. The fact he is playing County Cricket at the moment shows that he just wants to be out in the middle,” added Pujara's father and coach.

Now, with this fiery form, the veteran of 95 Test matches could well again be a contender for that no 3 spot for Team India in Tests, which he has owned for almost a decade.
