Xtra Time Web Desk: As the Indian cricket team gears up for the final match against South Africa in Barbados, outgoing head coach Rahul Dravid expressed his satisfaction with the team's exceptional consistency across all three formats. Under Dravid's leadership, India has achieved remarkable milestones, including reaching three ICC tournament finals and securing the top ranking in Tests, ODIs, and T20s.

Dravid lauded the players for their incredible performances, emphasizing their contribution to the team's success. "I think it's good that we are consistent and playing good cricket. For many years, especially in the last year, being number one in all three formats, playing in the finals, is a good thing. It gives a lot of credit to the boys, a lot of boys who are Test cricketers, who are our one-day players and also our T20 players," Dravid remarked during the pre-match press conference in Guyana.

The Rohit Sharma-led Indian team enters the T20 World Cup 2024 final with an unbeaten record in the tournament, mirroring their impressive run in the 2023 home World Cup. As favorites, they aim to end their ICC trophy drought, having previously lost the World Test Championship Final and the ODI World Cup Final against Australia in 2023.

Due to the tight schedule, India had to cancel their practice session to ensure players remain fresh both mentally and physically. Dravid highlighted the importance of preparation and recovery, saying, "It's unlikely we're going to be having a practice. It's just about all the guys ensuring that physically, mentally, tactically we are ready for the game. Those are the things that we can control - that we are fresh, that we have looked after all our niggles if there are any, we have done all our tactical preparation and they are mentally relaxed and excited and looking forward to the game."

Dravid's tenure as head coach concludes with the T20 World Cup 2024 final. Speculations suggest former India opener Gautam Gambhir as a prime candidate to succeed him. Dravid's departure marks the end of an era, but his legacy of fostering a consistent and resilient Indian cricket team will endure.
