Following this momentous win, the Indian team held their ritualistic best fielder medal ceremony, where former cricketer Dinesh Karthik was invited to present the award to Rishabh Pant for his outstanding keeping skills.

Karthik received a warm welcome from the Indian team, and in his characteristic humorous style, he joked about the high standards set by previous presenters like Vivian Richards. He quipped that the award ceremony might as well see UFOs and aliens presenting medals next, much to the amusement of the team.

In a video posted by BCCI on Instagram, Karthik shared his thoughts on the team's journey and performance. He reminisced about their loss to England in the semi-finals two years ago and praised the team's growth and strategic decisions that led to their current success.

"Two years ago, same game against the same opponent. I remember how we were in the dressing room on a cool night in Adelaide. Things did not go our way, but look at us now. It’s been outstanding to see how well you all have played," Karthik said. He also commended Rohit Sharma for his leadership and acknowledged Rahul Dravid, who will be coaching his final match in the upcoming final against South Africa on June 29.

Karthik's heartfelt words about Pant's remarkable comeback and his impact on the team and fans were particularly poignant. "Not many would have expected him to play the sport this early after what he’s been through. But he’s made millions happy just by being on the field," he said.
