Premier League: This is how Arsenal is planning to bring virtual fans inside Emirates stadium
XtraTime Web Desk: English Premier League club Arsenal is looking at various options to bring in virtual fans inside the stadium once the league restarts. The Premier League is all set for restart on June 17. The Gunners will travel to Manchester to take on City in their first Premier League clash after coming back from the forced break due to coronavirus pandemic. The Premier League has already announced that all matches will be staged closed doors to control the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.
Various options are being discussed, one of which is to beam fans who are watching the games live at home onto big screens inside the ground via Zoom.
Danish side Aarhus used this option during their Superliga clash against Randers, with fans shown on screens around the stadium and their shouts and chants broadcast through the PA system.
The London based club has already spoken to Arahus management about their experience. According to a club spokesman, "We’re exploring multiple ways to bring fans into the stadium 'virtually',"
The club also did a survey among its fans to know how they would like to enjoy the Premier League matches once it restarts behind closed doors. A majority of the fans voted for having the empty stands covered with banners and signs. While a certain section of the fans wants to watch the matches live via Zoom on big screens around the pitch.
