XtraTime Web Desk: Goals from Bruno Fernandes (27’), Mason Greenwood(45+5’) and Paul Pogba helped Manchester United thrash Aston Villa in Premier League at Villa Park on Thursday night. The win
take United’s points tally to 58 from 34 matches. The Red Devils is placed fifth in the table, behind Leicester City and Chelsea who are on 59 and 60 points respectively. It was the 17th unbeaten run for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.
United were awarded a somewhat controversial penalty after Bruno Fernandes was fouled by Ezri Konsa in the 26th minute. Fernandes made no mistake from the spot kick to give United the lead. Mason Greenwood's thunderbolt doubled the lead for the visitors in the injury time of the first half. Paul Pogba ended the game as a contest with his first goal since April 2019 early in the second half.
The victory keeps the Red Devils in the race for Champions League qualification.
