Ashwin, who was awarded Player of the Match for his exceptional all-round performance, had a standout Test on his home turf. He scored 113 runs and took six wickets, playing a pivotal role in India’s triumph. Rohit also took the opportunity to laud wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant, who made a successful return to the longest format after two years, following his impressive performances in the IPL and World Cup. “He’s been through tough times, but his resilience has been amazing. This is the format he loves the most, and we always knew what he could do with both the bat and gloves,” Rohit said.

With this victory, India now leads the two-match series 1-0 and is one step closer to a clean sweep over Bangladesh. The second Test will take place at Green Park, Kanpur, on September 27.
