Social media erupts as MS Dhoni reveals his new haircut

Xtra Time Web Desk: Indian cricket fans have gone into a frenzy on social media following the reveal of Mahendra Singh Dhoni's new haircut. Celebrity hair stylist Aalim Hakim shared images of Dhoni's latest look on Instagram, which garnered over 50,000 likes within the first hour. The Chennai Super Kings star has transitioned from his long hairstyle, sported during IPL 2024, to a shorter, wavier cut.

"Our Young, Dynamic and Handsome Mahendra Singh Dhoni," wrote Aalim Hakim in the caption to the post.
"It's a pure joy to cut and style our Thala's hair and he is always courteous enough to let me click his pictures," wrote Hakim.

Despite maintaining a low profile outside of the IPL, this reveal has given Dhoni's fans a rare glimpse into their idol's life. Enthusiasts are still hopeful to see him play in IPL 2025. Although Dhoni has handed over the captaincy to Ruturaj Gaikwad and with a mega auction approaching, his future in the league remains uncertain. Dhoni's performance in IPL 2024, where he scored 161 runs at a striking rate of 220, often batting at number 8, suggests he still has plenty to offer on the field.

Meanwhile, Team India is gearing up for the 2024 T20 World Cup, aiming for a victory reminiscent of their first win under Dhoni's captaincy in 2007 with a young squad. He is also the captain under whom India won their last ICC trophy, which is the 2013 Champions Trophy.
