The fast bowler shared a touching photo lifting his father, who was clad in the Team India jersey, captioning it, "This belongs to you. Love you dad."

Rana will join India’s ODI squad for the upcoming series against Sri Lanka, starting August 2. He is part of a squad that includes Arshdeep Singh, Khaleel Ahmed, and Mohammed Siraj. Although he was previously included in the Indian squad for the first two T20Is against Zimbabwe, Rana did not get a chance to play.
Rana, who has been instrumental in KKR's IPL 2024 triumph under the mentorship of Gautam Gambhir, credited Gambhir, along with his father and personal coach Amit Bhandari, for his success. Rana, who has taken 19 wickets in 13 IPL matches this season, praised Gambhir for his unwavering trust and support, saying, “Gauti bhaiyya would always tell me ‘Mere ko tere pe trust hai. Tu match jeetake aayega’ (I trust you, you can win the match).”

Rana has only played 14 List A matches, where he has taken 22 wickets with a 5.54 economy rate. The ODI series against Sri Lanka marks an important opportunity for Rana to showcase his skills on the international stage.
