Xtra Time Web Desk: Indian Head Coach Gautam Gambhir revealed that Jasprit Bumrah's workload will be monitored of after the Pune Test against New Zealand, starting on October 24 at the MCA Stadium.

India is all set to take care Jasprit Bumrah and other fast bowlers keeping the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in mind which is scheduled to be played on Australian soil. India will play five Tests including a Day-Night affair at the Adelaide Oval.

Gambhir expressed that the 10-12 day break between the Test series against New Zealand and the Tests against Australia should be enough for the fast bowlers to recover. 

Gambhir stated in the pre-match press conference, "Once the series is over, we still have around 10 or 12 days before the Test starts in Australia. That is enough break for our fast bowlers as well. But we will still monitor after this Test match where Jasprit Bumrah is."

He further added, " But it's not only about Jasprit Bumrah. It's about with all the fast bowlers as well. We want to keep them fresh. We know that obviously we have got a long tour and an important tour of Australia.” He also mentioned that the result of the Pune Test will play a part in deciding the workload of the pacers.

For now, India will be trying to bounce back and level the series against New Zealand as they lost the opening match against Kiwis. Will India be able to win Pune Test? All eyes are on that now.
